Disaster risk reduction training organized at Changunarayan municipality



KATHMANDU: One-day training has been conducted regarding the measures to protect citizens from natural disasters like earthquakes and fires at Changunarayan municipality.
The municipality and Institute of Social and Environmental Transition (ISET) Nepal organized the one-day training and rehearsal regarding the measures to be protected from natural disasters.

Different stakeholders, representatives of wards no 1 and 2, social workers, representatives of Nepal Red Cross, students, police personnel, women, and housewives had participated in the training.

Chairperson of Changunarayan municipality-2, Shivahari KC, pointed out the need of awareness at the citizen level to reduce possible loss of life and property from natural disasters as Nepal is at high risk in view of natural disasters.

Such type of public awareness program would be organized in other wards of the municipality, he added.
The municipality has been launching different disaster risk reduction programs with the municipality with the financial support of ISET Nepal.
