School closed following increasing cases of viral fever

ROLPA: Some schools in Ropla district have been closed again within few days of resumption of physical classes.

Nepal Rastriya Secondary School, a school located at Sunchhahari-6, has been closed after cases of viral fever increased in the school, said school principal, Dhan Bahadur Pun.

They were compelled to close the school after more than 60 percent of students and teachers fell ill all of a sudden, he shared.

It is said that students and teachers have developed symptoms like fever, throat pain, headache, body ache, vomiting, cough, and weakness.

A teacher Jasbir Pun added that the school has been closed after students and teachers suffering from viral fever increased.

Chief of Health Post, Phagam, Ranjit Kumar Yadav, requested all to be protected from viral fever as it is an infectious disease and seasonal.

He suggested drinking lukewarm water, to be safe from cold, to take home remedies like steam inhalation.

A local Chitra Biyog Jhhakri Magar said that though the government had directed to run online classes during a lockdown, most the government schools could not manage it in lack of necessary infrastructures, geographical difficulties as well as a low-income background of the students’ parents.
