73 % of people receive vaccination against COVID-19 in Valley



KATHMANDU: Seventy-three percent of the eligible people have received vaccination against COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.

According to Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, 76 percent of the people have received the first dose of vaccination and 73 percent of the people have got full doze of vaccination in the federal capital.

The government has planned to vaccinate a total of 2,129,773 people in the valley.

Dr. Adhikari said 78 percent have received the first doze and 74 percent have got full doze of vaccination in Kathmandu district.
The government had targeted to vaccinate 1,500,063 people in Kathmandu.

Similarly, 63 percent have received first doze and 75 percent have received full dose in Bhaktapur while the number of people receiving the first dose in Lalitpur is 76 percent and those receiving the full dose is 69 percent, according to the Ministry.

There are 246,851 eligible people in Bhaktapur and 382,860 in Lalitpur for vaccination.

The government has set a target to vaccinate 33 percent of the eligible people by mid-October, two thirds by mid-January (2022) and all the eligible people by mid-April next year.
