NA boxers leave for Moscow to participate in Military Boxing Championship



KATHMANDU: Nepali Army athletes, who are going to participate in the ’58th World Military Boxing Championship 2021′ to be organized by the International Military Sports Council in the Russian capital of Moscow from September 16 to September 26, were bid farewell Monday.

Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma formally bade farewell to a contingent of 15 people, including seven officials and eight athletes, at a special ceremony held at the Army Headquarters. After the Nepal Army became a member of IMSC in 2018, it participated in 13 games at the 7th IMSC World Games held in Wuhan, China in 2019.

On the occasion, Chief of Army Staff Sharma wished success to the Nepal Army athletes and instructed them to participate in the competition with confidence using the knowledge and skills learned in the training.

In the program, Brigadier General Shashikiran Rayamajhi gave information about the championship and the athletes. Around 300 athletes including 49 women from 39 countries including Nepal are competing in the tournament.
