Rautahat murder case: Alam’s writ not be heard on

KATHMANDU: The trial of former Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Mohammad Aftab Alam, who is in jail on charges of plotting the Rautahat bombing, is decided not be heard on Friday.

A writ petition filed by Alam seeking release on bail was assigned to the division bench of Justices Deepak Kumar Karki and Hari Phuyal.

However, the apex court administration said that the hearing could not be held as Judge Phuyal could not see the case.

The case related to the bomb blast is in the district court of Rautahat. He is currently in Nakhu Jail after the court remanded him in custody for trial. He had applied to the apex court last year to fight the case on a common date.

His writ petition has been in the cause list for nine times, but has not yet been heard yet.
