KATHMANDU: The Seventh Constitution Day-2078 is to be observed as the National Day from September 18-20 within the country and abroad.

On the occasion, illumination would be organised in the country and Nepali Embassies and diplomatic missions abroad. Constitution Day main ceremony committee has already been formed under chairmanship of the Prime Minister to commemorate the National Day.

A meeting of the Publicity Sub-Committee under the programme main committee held today urged the government, community and private media for publicity of the Day.

The meeting held under chairmanship of Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and coordinator of the sub-committee, Dr Baikuntha Aryal, decided to ask media to broadcast the information, requesting people to hoist national flag at their houses with high respect on the occasion of the Constitution Day.

Arrangements would be made to send messages relating to the Day through Nepal Telecom, broadcast them on display boards and organise special talks and panel discussions, and disseminate awareness programmes through national level media.

It has been decided upon to broadcast or transmit various write-ups, news, feature news, interviews and new programmes spreading the message on the significance of the constitution through government-owned media houses like Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Nepal Television, Radio Nepal and Gorkhapatra Corporation.

Metropolitan and sub metropolitan cities, municipalities and rural municipalities across the country would be asked to coordinate to manage putting up display boards circulating messages relating to the Day.

On the National Day, a live telecast of a formal ceremony at the army pavilion would be launched through NTV and Radio Nepal.
