KATHMANDU: The government has started preparations to convene a session of the federal parliament.
According to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s secretariat, PM Deuba started discussions with Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and leaders of the ruling parties to convene a parliamentary session on Saturday.
PM Deuba held a discussion with Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and the alliance leader CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal in Baluwatar on Saturday morning.
“Parliament has to convene for there are many issues to be settled through it,” the source said, adding, “The meeting also discussed on various issues including the effective mobilization of the government and completion of the Council of Ministers.”
Prime Minister Deuba has been insisting that a parliamentary session should be convened to pass the MCC at the earliest.
