Eleven new mothers rescued under President Women Upliftment Program



DOTI: Eleven new and expecting mothers have been rescued by air from Achham district so far under the President Women Upliftment Program, Chief District Officer Rudra Bahadur Malla said.

The Program is run by the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens.

Under this program, expecting and new mothers are airlifted free of cost in case of medical complications.

CDO Malla said 11 new and expectant mothers were rescued from the district since the fiscal year 2019/20. Two expecting mothers were recently airlifted on August 22.

This program has greatly benefitted the new and expectant mothers of remote areas at times of emergency, it is said.
