BARDIYA: The increase in the population of the spotted tiger has led to the inflow of tourists to Bardiya National Park (BNP).
In recent times, Bardiya National Park has been developed as synonymous to a tiger. According to Ashok Bhandari, assistant conservation officer at the park, the flow of visitors in the park to observe tiger and other endangered wild species has increased significantly.
He said tourists usually come there to see tigers. According to him, tigers are visible during the hot season as they come outside for quenching their thirst.
According to the BNP, a total of 22,000 tourists, including Nepali, and foreigners have visited the national park in the past 10 months.
BNP has a total of 87 spotted tigers.
