KATHMANDU: The National Examination Board (NEB) is preparing to conduct the Class 12 examinations from the third week of September, which was postponed due to the high risk of COVID-19.

Board member Secretary Durga Aryal said that the NEB is preparing to conduct the examinations after the Ministry of Health and Population made arrangements to provide vaccine to class 12 students on the basis of admission cards.

“The board had demanded the government to provide vaccinations to the students,” he said. Homework is now being done to unveil the new examination schedule within a week.

According to him, the NEB has said that it will be more convenient to conduct the examination as all the tasks including designating the examination center, manpower management, preparation of question papers, transportation and orienting the center chairperson about the examination have already been completed.

‘There are 11,600 schools across the country operating up to class 10. There are 4,315 schools operating in class 12, ‘said Member Secretary Aryal.

The exam, which was earlier scheduled to start on July 16, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
