KATHMANDU: Two policemen have been suspended in connection with the leak of a pre-SAT question paper to be sent by the Nepal Police to a UN peacekeeping mission.

According to Police Spokesperson Basanta Kunwar, Constable Kumar Shah and Office Assistant Suresh Bam have been suspended on the recommendation of the Probe Committee.

“Based on the committee’s recommendation, we have now suspended two police officials. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Janak Bahadur Thapa is yet to be suspended. We will also suspend him after completing the process,” Kunwar told Khabarhub.

A panel led by DIG Basanta Lama had investigated the question paper leak case and submitted a 550-page report recommending removal of three persons from service, departmental action against 11 individuals and cancellation of examinations.

The test was conducted at the Police Headquarters and seven Province Police Offices on July 30 and 31. There were 2,400 participants ranging from constables to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in the examination.
