APF completes BOP building construction in Tinkar

KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force has completed the construction of the Border Outpost building at Chhayalek in Tinkar of Byas Rural Municipality-1, a Nepal-China border point in Darchula.

It is the first BOP to be set up in Tinkar, which is connected to Taklakot in China. The building has been constructed as per the government’s target of constructing BOP in border points of strategic importance areas. Nepal Police has also been stationed in the same area.

The BOP has been set up to monitor and control theft, poaching, smuggling, and unwanted activities in the border areas through Tibet.

According to sources, it takes four to five hours to reach Nepal-China border pillar No. 1 from Chhayalek.

Earlier, the Armed Police Force (APF) at Gaga in Chhangru was patrolling up to Pillar No. 1. After the establishment of BOP in Chhayalek, it will be easier to patrol the border area with China.
