Govt launches a weeklong nationwide mask campaign starting today



KATHMANDU: The government has launched a weeklong nationwide mask campaign from today.

The Ministry of Health and Population has started a campaign with the slogan ‘My commitment to Epidemic Prevention and Control; Wearing a Mask is the Need of the Hour’.

The ministry has said the campaign is aimed at changing the behavior of people in wearing masks. Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari, Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry, said that a mask campaign is being launched to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Adhikari informed that a campaign is being launched to inform people about the health standards and the importance of masks to prevent and control of COVID-19 pandemic.

He also urged everyone to wear a mask as it is a more effective way to prevent corona virus. Although the infection is increasing day by day, it has been found that many people do not wear masks properly.

The ministry said that the volunteers will teach people how to wear masks in a week-long campaign.
