18 killed, several injured after truck hits bus in India’s UP



NEW DELHI: At least 18 people were killed and several others injured when a truck hit a bus in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred on the Ayodhya-Lucknow Highway in Barabanki.

Police said there were 140 people on the bus, according to India Today.

The bus was stationed near Ram Sanehi Ghat police station after its axle broke down, the report said adding that a speeding truck came and rammed into the bus, killing 18 people on the spot.

The police are in the process of registering a case.
