NCB apprehends five cocaine, fake gold peddlers in the act



KATHMANDU: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Nepal Police has nabbed five persons trading illegal drug cocaine and fake gold, during the act, from a hotel in Paknajol, Thamel, Friday.

The arrested smugglers have been identified as Mukunda Khadka, 29, Man Gurung, 31, Ramesh Bahadur Rana, 40, Ek Raj Gurung, 21, of Gorkha and Nanda Lal Mantha, 28, of Surkhet.

Issuing a press statement Friday, police informed that approximately 500 gram of Cocaine (worth Rs 10.5 million in the illegal market) and 2.4 kilogram gold-like metal was seized from their possession. The arrest followed long-term surveillance against them.

The yellow metal was recovered from Man Gurung’s rented room in ward 16 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. In addition, Ek Raj Gurung is also a police personnel.

Further investigation into them is underway, police said.
