Dhorpatan municipality to seek media help to promote Dhorpatan



BAGLUNG: Dhorpatan municipality in Baglung is set to start a ‘media mission’ which aims to promote local touristic sites and support the economic activities there.

The local government decides to seek the help of media from the upcoming fiscal year for the promotion of local tourism, according to Mayor Dev Kumar Nepali.

As he said, the ‘Media Mission, Dhorpatan Destination’ program has been launched to promote the tourism sector.
“We aim to seek the promotion of the tourism industry as well as the strengthening of media.

We believe that agriculture and tourism is the foundation of development and we are convinced that the media’s role is vital to promote tourism activities. During the mission, media cooperation will be sought for the exploration, identification, and publicity of touristic sites inside the municipality.

The local government plans to make a documentary featuring the major touristic destinations within the locality,” the mayor said.

Meantime, the local government has decided to give continuity to local festivals of cultural importance in the upcoming fiscal year if the COVID-19 pandemic comes under control.

In addition to this, the local government’s policies and programs for the new fiscal year state that a trekking route will be constructed connecting major cultural and religious heritages in the Dhorpatan area.

Dhorpatan municipality is to pursue a policy of further systematizing the Homestay facility at the locality, identifying tourism business as one of the backbones of the local economy.
