Valley CDOs making preparations to allow vehicles to operate on odd-even rule

KATHMANDU: The government is making preparations to relax the prohibitory order by permitting public vehicles to resume operations.

The District COVID Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) of Kathmandu made a recommendation to this effect with the consultation with the health offices based in the districts.

Assistant CDO of Kalpana Ghimire Nepal said the DCCMC recommended the CDOs to bring public vehicles into operations following consultation with health offices.

CDOs of three districts held a joint meeting on Sunday following the meeting of the DCCMC but did not take an official decision since they could not finalize the modalities of the order.

They are taking an official decision today on the prohibitory order today, said Assistant CDO Ghimire.

Presuming that the impact of the relaxed lockdown would be seen only after one week, DCCMC recommended resuming operations of vehicles on the odd-even rule at the beginning.

The prohibitory order has been imposed in the Kathmandu Valley to control COVID-19 since April 29.

The prohibitory order has been relaxed in recent days by allowing private vehicles on odd-even rule and shops in various sectors on the alternative days.
