Govt allocates 4 billion to purchase equipment for COVID-19 treatment



KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs.4 billion to purchase equipment for COVID-19 treatment.

Unveiling the budget for the fiscal year 2021/22 on Saturday, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said the budget for vaccines and health supplies would not be reduced.

He said that hospitals with more than 100 beds have been arranged to connect their own oxygen plants.

Apart from that, customs duty has been waived on the goods of oxygen industry and 50 percent discount has been given on electricity tariff for producing oxygen, he said.
