Nepal’s export growth increases 32.19 per cent in 10 months in FY 2020/021



KATHMANDU: The country’s export growth has increased 32.19 percent in 10 months in the fiscal year, 2020/021.

The country exported goods worth Rs 108.4 billion in the period against Rs 82.46 billion worth of goods, according to data with the Department of Customs.

Last FY, The government had aimed to export goods worth over Rs 100 million. Likewise in the same period of the FY, 2077/078, the country imported goods worth over Rs 1,254 billion, a 22.34 percent increment against the last FY.

Goods worth more than 1,025 billion were imported in the same period last FY.

Similarly, the country’s trade deficit has increased by 21.48 percent. The figure for export and import of the country is 7.96 and 92.4 percent respectively.

The country has reported foreign trade deficit amounting to more than Rs 1,145 billion. In the same period last FY, the country reported foreign trade deficit amounting to over Rs 943 billion.
