KATHMANDU: Doctors have suggested one and all to immediately get themselves tested after they suffer cough, cold, fever and body ache.
This suggestion comes in the wake of a spike in the COVID-19 infections in the second wave that has hit the country. Speaking at a virtual discussion hosted by the Bagmati Cleaning Mega Campaign in Kathmandu, TU Teaching Hospital Dr Santa Kumar Das said even minor cough and fever have been diagnosed as coronavirus, hence we all need to be extra cautious and alert. It’s better to test rather than negating a normal symptom.
People suffering from COVID-19 are arriving late at hospital due to late diagnosis, hence it is difficult for the doctors to provide early treatment.
A patient could be saved if the virus is detected early. Dr Das also suggested people to remain alert of the third wave of Corona Virus, that experts believe will affect children.
The current wave is affected more and more youths. He said the patients should take medicines only after consultation with doctors.
Health protocol will have to be followed only more than 70 per cent of the population is vaccinated against COVID-19.
Anyone suffering from fever for more than six days should go to the hospital. For chief secretary and lead campaigner of the mega campaign Lilamani Poudyal, campaigner Raj Kumar Bhattarai and others also spoke on the occasion.
The event is being organized weekly. The campaign also hosts a virtual yoga session every day from 6:30 to 7:30 am to help people improve their physical and mental well-being.
