CAAN extends ban on international flights till May 31

KATHMANDU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has extended the suspension of international flights till May 31.

CAAN notified all international airlines by issuing a notice on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two flights a week with India will continue. Earlier, the government had decided to ban scheduled international flights until mid-May to control the coronavirus pandemic.

However, medical, chartered and cargo flights will be allowed to fly with permission from CAAN.

With the extension of international flights ban, Nepalis migrants going abroad and returning home will be directly affected. The travel of foreign tourists involved in mountaineering will also be affected.
