Worker dies after falling from bridge construction site



KATHMANDU: A bridge construction worker who accidentally fell into the Trishuli River together with his colleagues here this morning has died.

Eight people have been injured and two others have gone missing after they fell into the river.

The District Police Office, Chitwan has identified the deceased as Bijay Yadav, 43, from Betiya, India.

Though he was rescued alive, he died at the Chitwan Medical College. Others eight left injured in the incident are reported to be out of a life-threatening condition. They are being treated at the same health facility.

Those missing ones are Shyam Babu Pathak and Sunil Majhi. Police are searching for them.

The project is based in Thimura of Bharatpur metropolis -1 and workers accidentally fell into the river as they were busy in the construction work.

The dead is one of those who got trapped under iron materials used for the construction.
