KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley, which was blanketed by smog and dust almost for a week, has got some respite with the rainfall of Wednesday.
Even though the level of air pollution has come down to some extent following the rainfall, it is not still safe from the point of human health.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) which climbed above 400 micrograms per cubic meter a week ago climbed down to 160 in average on Thursday as per the record shown by AQI installed in various places of the Valley.
The AQI ranging between150 to 200 can be unhealthy from the point of human health.
The Valley had witnessed 9.8 millimeters of rain on Wednesday.
