CPN (Maoist Center) not to withdraw its support to the government

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) has decided not to withdraw its support to the government.

A Standing Committee meeting of the party held at the party office in Perisdanda Wednesday decided not to withdraw its support to the government immediately, according to party Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

“We decided not to withdraw our support to the government,” Shrestha said.

Likewise, the meeting has also decided to expedite talks with the Nepali Congress (NC) and the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) to form a coalition government.

A meeting of the SC held on Tuesday had decided to continue to hold the meeting on Wednesday as well to discuss the current political situation that arose following the Supreme Court’s verdict to scrap its merger with the CPN (UML).

Likewise, the party has decided to hold a meeting of the central committee on Saturday, and an assembly of party cadres on Sunday, according to the party’s Spokesperson Shrestha.

Likewise, the meeting also formed a four-member task force to analyze the organizational status. The members of the task force include Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, Barsa Man Pun, Pampha Bhusal and Janardhan Sharma.

It should be noted that party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Tuesday held talks with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s residence in Budhanilkantha.

The 20-minute talks basically focused on current political developments and the parties’ future course of action.

Prachanda had rushed to meet Deuba soon after the Standing Committee meeting.
