Make Biplav-Govt agreement public: HURPES

KATHMANDU: Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) Nepal has demanded that the details of the agreement between the government and formerly outlawed Biplav group of Nepal Communist Party be made public.

Speaking at a press conference in Butwal, on Monday, HURPES President Govinda Khanal said that the details of the agreement should be made public at the earliest.

“Most of the activities of the government are not trustworthy, hence, the details of the government-Biplav agreement should go public to ensure transparency, and accountability,” Khanal said.

He lauded the Supreme Court’s reinstatement of the parliament as a fundamental verdict to ensure the supremacy of law.
