KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed best wishes for the success of Make in Nepal-Swadeshi campaign forwarded by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).
The President thanked the CNI for uplifting the issue the President had in her inner heart, according to the CNI.
The President said that national perspective and ideological clarity from the leadership level was needed to make this campaign a success.
Saying that the government has made a provision to procure the domestic goods though the price was expensive upto 15 per cent, the President viewed that both the cultures of self-dependency and inter-dependency have increased.
The President suggested that the industrialists and business community should pay attention for the production of goods with Nepal’s unique identity.
The President was of the view that the private sector should also pay attention for the production of skilled human resources as there was a high demand for skilled and semi-skilled labour force in Nepal.
CNI’s Chairman Satish Kumar Moore, senior vice-chairman Bishnu Kumar Agrwala and chief economic advisor Dr Bishow Poudel informed the President about different areas relating to trade, industry, export replacement, modernization of service sector, consumption pattern, capital expenditure in infrastructure sector and many more issues.
