Regulate, don’t control social media: Lawmakers



KATHMANDU: Lawmakers representing Development and Technology Committee of Parliament have stressed on the need of introducing the Communications Act so to regulate social media rather than control it.

The lawmakers were addressing in the discussions on the principles of the Bill Designed to Make Provisions Regarding Information Technology.

Committee president Kalyani Kumari Khadka said that the bill should not contain ambiguous words and sentences.

“It should be clear so that the people can apprehend it,” she said.
