NC President Deuba urges cadres to gear up for mid-term poll

BIDUR: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged all the cadres of his political party to gear up for the mid-term poll announced for coming April 30 and May 10 this year.

Inaugurating the BP Memorial Building of NC at Bidur in Nuwakot district on Friday, Deuba assured that the by-election would be held within the stipulated time.

He urged the cadres to kick off publicity campaign to make the NC victorious and asked the cadres not to hold discourse about the dissolution of the House of Representatives in the streets.

According to him, NC would accept any verdict of the court regarding this matter.

“We should not pile pressure for restoration of the parliament since it is a sub-judice case in the court and such cases are sensitive,” Deuba, also the former Prime Minister, argued.

He viewed that the dispute relating to the electoral symbol in the Nepal Communist Party and authority over the party was a struggle for the electoral preparation.

Also speaking in the event, leader Prakashman Singh called for patience and have a faith in the court for its judicious verdict on the sub-judice matter.

NC central member Arjun Narshing KC, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Kamala Panta, Pradeep Poudel, Bahadur Singh Lama Tamang commented that impunity has gripped the country lately.

A foundation stone was laid for the building in 2058 BS. Named after BP Koirala, one of the founder members of the oldest Democratic Party in the country-NC-, a modern building was recently constructed at the cost of over Rs 40 million.

The building has nine rooms and three conference rooms.
