KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday is hearing a writ petition filed by senior advocate Bal Krishna Neupane demanding that a case be filed against the then Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal in the Lalita Niwas land grab scam.

The apex court has given priority to the writ petition on hearing.

A joint bench of Justices Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Hari Prasad Phuyal is hearing the writ petition against Nepal.

Neupane had also filed a writ petition naming the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and Attorney General’s Office as defendants for not filing a case against Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Nepal.
