LAMJUNG: The Beshisahar-Chame Road linking Lamjung district with Manang district has resumed after three days.

The road had remained closed due to construction works.

The road section was closed since a section of the road at Syange in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4 of Lamjung district was under construction.

According to Information Officer at the Dumre-Beshisahar-Chame Road Project, Suraj Maharjan, traffic movement resumed in the 65-km road from today morning.

Among the 65-km of the road, 35-km falls in Lamjung while the rest 30-km lies in Manang.

The road, currently one-lane was built by the Road Division Office, Tanahu in 2051 BS as a part of the government’s vision to link the mountainous district Manang with road connectivity.

This road that stretches across difficult rugged terrain is prone to landslide. The federal government has allocated over Rs 230 million for the up-gradation of this road that has four-meter breadth in most of its section.
