Hearing of the case against NCP claim postponed

KATHMANDU: The hearing on the writ petition filed by Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Rishi Ram Kattel claiming that the NCP belongs to him has been postponed as per the request of the government attorneys.

After  then NCP United Marxist Leninist(UML) and UCPN (Maoist) united to form the Nepal Communist Party (NCP),  Rishi Ram Kattel had lodged a complaint at the Election Commission claiming the name for his party.

However, the Commission ruled in favor of the NCP led Prime Minister KP Oli and Puspa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. After that, Kattel had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on December 7, 2018.

The bench of Justice Harikrishna Karki and Kumar Regmi were assigned the case however, at the request of government attorneys the hearing is postponed today.
