12 killed in various accidents in 24 hrs



KATHMANDU: Twelve people have died in different accidents that took place in various parts of the country in the past 24 hours.

Seven died in road accidents that took place in Bardia, Dhanusa, Sarlahi, Jhapa, and Nuwakot districts while five died in other fatal incidents that took place in Ilam and Sindhupalchowk district, police said.

Dead bodies were recovered in public ponds in Sindhupalchowk and Ilam while three people were found dead in their respective homes.

Dinesh Tamang was killed after being hit by a bus at Bidur municipality-10, Nuwakot this morning, while two people died in road accidents that took place in Shivasatakhi municipality-1 of Jhapa on Monday evening. The deceased have been identified as Raj Kumar Limbu of the same municipality and Hom Prasad Upreti of Gauradaha municipality-4.

Three people died in road accidents that took place in Kanauda rural municipality-2, Sarlahi, and Malangwa municipality, police said.
