APF Head Constable arrested with Rs 15,000 bribe



KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested senior Head Constable Shravan Basnet of the Armed Police Force (APF) in Mahottari on a charge of taking bribe.

According to CIAA Assistant Spokesperson Bed Prasad Bhandari, Basnet who is working at the Security Base Camp at Ramnagar, Gaushala Municipality-5, Mahottari, had taken a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a service recipient for facilitating the transportation of firewood for domestic use.

A team deployed from the CIAA’s office in Bardibas took him under control from Nigaul Chowk on Monday on the basis of information that he was demanding money from a service recipient.
