Nepali Embassy in Malaysia shut down after staffer diagnosed with COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Nepali Embassy in Malaysia has been shut down after a staffer working at the Embassy tested positive for COVID-19.

The staffer tested positive for COVID-19 at a time when the number of infection cases spiked in the surrounding areas including the capital city Kuala Lumpur.

The number of COVID-19 cases has reached 198,208 in Malaysia after 4,094 new cases were reported in the country. Currently, 43,192 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals while 154,299 have returned home after recovery.

Similarly, the death toll from COVID-19 has reached 717 with 10 news deaths. Malaysia has imposed a Movement Control Order (MCO) after COVID-19 cases increased in the country again.
