Notorious robber arrested after 15 years



KATHMANDU: A notorious robber has been arrested 15 years after he was convicted by a court.

The arrested is Deepak Shrestha, 41, of Bhimeshwor Municipality-5 in Dolakha and currently living in Bouddha, Kathmandu.

Shrestha was convicted by the Kathmandu District Court in 10 theft cases and sentenced to 58 years imprisonment on January 7, 2007.

Shrestha, who has been absconding since the court sentenced him, has been arrested by the police team deployed by the Metropolitan Police Crime Division.

Shrestha, who has been absconding for 15 years, was arrested from Bouddha in Kathmandu on Saturday, according to police.

The arrested Shrestha has been produced before the District Court, Kathmandu for implementation of the verdict.
