One arrested with weapons from Shey Phoksundo National Park



KATHMANDU: A man has been arrested from Shey Phoksundo National Park on charges of involvement in illegal wildlife smuggling.

The arrested is Laxmi Chandra Shahi, 53, of Tripura Sundari Municipality-6 of Dolpa. He was arrested from Thermu Nigaligaura in Tripura Sundari-11 under the national park area.

A team including Nepal Army and park staff arrested him on Monday. A loaded gun, 19 rounds of ammunition also were recovered from him.

The arrested Shahi has been handed over to the park office for necessary action, according to the Army Public Relations and Information Directorate.
