KATHMANDU: The government is preparing to operate that Kurtha-Jaynagar Railway service within mid-February.
According to the Nepal Railway Company, the management of the railway has been managed by the employees from the civil administration and the employees who have worked in the railway service in the past, media reports said.
The company has received approval from the departmental ministry for civil servants, said General Manager Guru Bhattarai, adding that the company is planning to hire employees who have worked in the department in the past.
The company has said that it is preparing to operate the railway service by managing 26 Indian and 175 Nepali manpower.
As per the agreement reached between the Government of Nepal and the Indian side for the operation of the railway, the technical staff of Nepal was included in the package to train and develop the operational capacity of the railway.
The railway measuring 35 kilometers in length section was constructed with India’s technical and financial support.
The newly-procured trains have been safely parked in Inarwa of Dhanusha district. Locals have expressed doubt over the possible resumption of train service within mid-February when two past efforts for the same went in vain.
The locals of Janakpur have also not remained confident about the resumption of the Janakpur-Jayanagar railway service lately.
