Missing Malaysian climber spotted alive at Mt. Annapurna



KATHMANDU: Malaysian climber Dr. Chin Wui Kin, who went missing in Nepal’s Mount Annapurna since Tuesday, has been located alive.

Expedition organizers Seven Summit Treks on Thursday said that his location has been pinpointed and rescue efforts are underway.

Dr. Chin, who is a visiting senior anesthesiology consultant at Singapore’s Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, was separated from other trekkers while descending the treacherous peak. He got stuck at 7750m approx during his descent from the top.

In Facebook posts on Thursday afternoon, Seven Summit Treks said it has marked Dr. Chin’s location on the area C3 of the mountain and deployed four sherpas to rescue him.
