ILAM: Schools that remained closed due to coronavirus pandemic now are gradually coming into operation after a hiatus. Schools have shut their operation through the educational session had started some nine months back.
The schools now have come to effect so as to complete the curriculum on regular time after teaching and learning became easier. Though some schools had opted to resume their activities immediately after Tihar festival it could not last long with the fear that the coronavirus had reached out to the community level.
Lately the schools have come into operation as per the directive of the local level. Several alternative measures of school teaching system were adopted to carry on teaching and learning. But these measures did not remain effective due to the issue of access of all the students. With this there was no alternative to return to school teaching system, shared chief of Ilam district education and coordination unit, Shambhu Thapa.
As informed the schools had adopted different measures such as tole tuition class, FM/radio class and zoo m class but the results were not satisfactory. Two local levels – Ilam municipality and Suryodaya municipality adopted radio learning system during the time of pandemic. Some local levels chose corner teaching system.
Especially the institutional schools adopted these measures but could not get anticipated results, shared PABSON Ilam chair Bikas Karmacharya. There is still confusion on resuming physical operation of school of late, he said, adding there was weaknesses on part of the local level to effectively put in place alternative education system.
