Fire at poultry farm guts property worth Rs 1.5 mln



BHAKTAPUR:  Properties worth Rs 1.5 million have been reduced to ashes after a poultry farm caught fire in Changunarayan municipality in Bhaktapur.

A fire broke out in the poultry farm owned by Deepak Giri on Tuesday morning, killing at least 2,700 parent hens, according to Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur.

The fire had started from a paddy husk stove nearby before spreading to the poultry farm thatched by wheat reeds, said police.
