770 youths called for final competition for British Army and Singapore Police Force



KATHMANDU: The British government has called 770 Nepali youths for the final competition for the British Army and Singapore Police Force.

The youths are from 56 districts including Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Siraha, and Dhanusha.

It has given a chance to only a limited number of youths who got out from the regional and final rounds last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year’s selection process is one month behind the schedule.

The selection for Singapore Police Force will begin from January 23 and British Gurkha from February 2. Earlier, the selection process was completed in January.

The final selection will be in Pokhara. For that, half of the competitors have been selected from the eastern and western parts of Nepal.

In the final competition, 210 people have been called for the Singapore Police Force. The competition will be held in groups of 30-30 people by adopting the health protocol. Out of them, 140 will be selected.

As many as 560 people from all over the country have been invited to compete for the Brigade of Gurkhas.

Of them, 280 are from the eastern region and 280 from the western region. They will compete in a group of 32 people. In the end, 340 people will be selected. This number is lower than last year. Last year, 432 people were recruited in the British Army and 220 in Singapore Police Force.
