National Innovation Center constructing coffee roaster



KATHMANDU: The National Innovation Center is constructing a coffee roaster.

Chairman Mahabir Pun said that the machine that will be very useful for coffee traders is being made by the innovation center and the project is lead by Rajesh Limbu of Taplejung.

According to Pun, Limbu learned to make such a coffee roasting machine of Italian design while living in Turkey for 14 years.

Limbu has already made six machines. He is currently building the machine in collaboration with other engineers at the invention center.

A machine capable of roasting up to 25 kg of coffee beans at a time is being built and its estimated cost will be around Rs 1.4 million, he said.

He claimed that the price of a machine made in Nepal would be much cheaper than that made in Italy and Turkey.
