KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has conveyed the message to the Indian side that Nepal is ready to resolve all bilateral issues, including the border, through dialogue, further enhancing the multifaceted relations with neighboring India.

In a conversation with Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Prime Minister Oli urged him to convey the message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Shringla conveyed Prime Minister Modi’s message that he wanted to take the bilateral relations between the two countries forward by making them ‘good’.

Giving information about the meeting, Prime Minister Oli’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Dr. Rajan Bhattarai said, “The exchange of positive messages between the Prime Ministers of the two countries has created an environment for dialogue and discussion on bilateral issues and mutual high-level visits in the coming days.”

Expressing confidence that the relationship would reach a new height after the issues were resolved during the meeting with Secretary Shringla, Prime Minister Oli said that Nepal was clear that it would not allow its territory to be used against the interests of any of its neighbors.

Secretary Shringla assured that he would take initiative to make the relations between the two countries more positive and fruitful.

Earlier today, visiting Foreign Secretary Shringla called on Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali at Singha Durbar and also held talks with his Nepali counterpart Bharat Raj Poudyal.

Shringla then met President Bidya Devi Bhandari later in the evening.

He will visit Gorkha tomorrow to inaugurate a school building built by Indian Embassy. This is the first visit of the Foreign Secretary to Nepal since he assumed the charge.
