HETAUDA: District Court Makwanpur sentenced a man to 37 years in jail on the charge of raping his own daughter.
Hearing the case, a single bench of Judge Sita Sharma Adhikari issued the verdict sentencing a 42-year-old father to life in prison on incest and 12 years on rape charges.
According to the new law, a 25-year jail term has been fixed for life imprisonment.
The father had been raping his 14-year-old daughter time and again after his wife committed suicide in 2073 BS.
Police had arrested him on April 12, 2020 after his neighbors reported about the incident to the police.
