NC dismisses rumors of joining government

KATHMANDU: Spokesperson of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) Bishwa Prakash Sharma has dismissed speculations that the party would join the government if the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) splits.

His remarks come amid speculations that Prime Minister KP Oli offered NC some ministerial portfolios if the latter joined the government during his meeting with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday.

NC Spokesperson Sharma said that NC has been given a clear mandate by the people to remain in opposition for five years.
“NC joining the government is mere illusion,” he has said adding the NC will not deviate at any cost.

It may be noted that PM Oli and Deuba has on Saturday discussed the current issues for over two hours at PM official residence in Baluwatar.

It is learnt that PM Oli and Deuba had discussed appointments in constitutional bodies and universities.
