NCP’s intra-party conflict has misled the public: NC

KATHMANDU: Main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has accused the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) saying that the latter’s intra-party conflict has resulted in the people’s distrust in the political party and the parliamentary system as well.

Commenting on the impact of the intra-party conflict of the ruling NCP, Nepali Congress Joint Secretary Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat pointed out that the irresponsible behavior of the elected representatives of the ruling NCP has defamed the democratic system as they have betrayed the people time and again.

“The betrayal of the ruling party has made people skeptic about the efficiency, inclusiveness and justice in the democratic system,” NC leader Mahat said, “The irresponsible behavior of the leaders has led to the decline of faith in the party system.

Hence, it’s high time to let the public know about the ill-intent of the communist party.”

Leader Mahat insisted that NC should act cautiously against the communist attempt to defame the system.

He lambasted the government as insensitive and pointed out that had the government worked sincerely on the construction and management of isolation, ensure each isolation had enough infrastructure to combat coronavirus pandemic, and had also arranged quarantine centers properly, the wild spreading pandemic could long have been curbed if not eliminated.

“The government has gone against its own election commitments. Had it been sensitive enough the pandemic could have long been curbed,” Dr Mahat added, “Had the government properly arranged for isolation, quarantine centers, test against the pandemic, the country’s COVID control plans would not be in such pathetic situation.”

He blamed the government that it is concerned about the commission in medicine and relief distribution.

“Since the day they got the majority in the parliament, the NCP leaders are in muscle stretching for power irrespective towards the suffering of the people, this has resulted in the decline of faith in all three tiers of government: federal, provincial and local,” NC Joint Secretary Mahat shared his impression of the government.
