Don’t implement decision to remove ‘Federal Democratic Republic’ from Nepal’s name: House panel



KATHMANDU: The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the Parliament has directed the government not to implement the decision of not writing the Federal Democratic Republic ahead of the name of Nepal in formal correspondence and speeches.

A meeting of the committee held on Monday directed not to implement the decision immediately. The committee had summoned the Prime Minister to discuss the government’s decision.

Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali, who was present in the committee on behalf of the Prime Minister, said that the decision was taken to make Nepal’s name easier.

He also said that the government had no bad intentions.
