Supreme Commander Ganesh Man’s 106th birth anniv being marked



KATHMANDU: The 106th birth anniversary of Ganesh Man Singh, late Nepali Congress leader and Supreme Commander of the 1990 democratic movement is being observed by organizing various programs across the country.

Leader Singh had won the hearts of Nepali people by exhibiting high determination, courage and devotion towards democracy in the Nepali political spectrum.

He had shown an example of dedication by proposing his contemporary leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai for the post of Prime Minister when then King Birendra asked Singh to take charge as the Prime Minister following the success of the 1990 movement.

Born in 1972 BS (Kartik 24) at Chhetrapati of Kathmandu, leader Singh had passed away on September 18, 1997.

He had become a member of Nepal’s first political party Nepal Praja Parishad founded in 1997 to overthrow the Rana regime.
