Trump, Biden lock in knife-edge contest

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said he’ll soon be “making a statement” about a “big win”.

Likewise, Democratic challenger Joe Biden told his supporters that he’s confident of victory in a nail-biting US election.

Trump said, “We won’t be hearing anymore from Biden tonight.”

Biden meanwhile said in Wilmington, Delaware said he has been watching election results with his family in Wilmington as votes continue to be tallied across the nation.

“We knew this was going to go long,” Biden said, acknowledging that the race will be dragging into Wednesday. “We feel good about where we are. We really do.”

He said he felt confident about winning Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, arguing that “it ain’t over until every vote is counted, until every ballot is counted.”

“I’m here to tell you tonight we believe we’re on track to win this election,” Biden said. “I’m optimistic about this outcome.”

“Keep the faith, guys. We’re going to win this,” Biden said.

As of now, while Biden is leading with 224 electoral college votes, Trump has 213.
