KATHMANDU: Five people including have passed away due to COVID-19 infection in separate places in the country in the past 24 hours.
Two people infected with coronavirus have died in the course of treatment in Sunsari district.
The deceased has been identified as a nine-year-old girl of Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-6 and a 61-year-old woman of Dharan Sub Metropolitan City-1.
According to Dr Ashish Shrestha, the deputy spokesperson for BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, the minor girl had been hospitalized on Tuesday (November 3) after being diagnosed with the virus on Monday.
The girl who was suffering from autoimmune disorder succumbs to the virus at 4 am today.
Similarly, the sexagenarian woman who tested positive for COVID-19 on October 16 was hospitalized on October 21.
She breathed her last at 3 am today after her condition deteriorated. She was suffering from high blood pressure and lung-related complications, according to the hospital.
Similarly, a 39-year-old woman infected with coronavirus woman has died in the course of treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.
Originally from Rapti municipality-10 who was hospitalized on October 31 after she complained of respiratory complications passed away at 6:50 am today.
According to Liladhar Paudel, the information officer of the hospital, the woman had tested positive for COVID-19 on November 2.
Similarly, an 85-year-old man has died from COVID-19 infection at Butwal COVID Special Hospital.
Originally from Gulmi Durbar rural municipality-6, Gulmi, the octogenarian passed away at 7 pm yesterday. The elderly had tested positive for COVID-19 on October 19, said Dr Bishnu Gautam, the spokesperson of the hospital.
Likewise, former Speaker and member of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara’s wife Sita Mahara has died from the coronavirus.
She was undergoing treatment at Norvic International Hospital after being diagnosed with the virus.
She was admitted to Dang-based Gorkah Hospital on October 29 after she suffered from minor illness during her visit to home district Rolpa, Mebang on Dashain.
After being diagnosed with pneumonia and respiratory complications, she was airlifted to Kathmandu on October 30.
She was being treated on ventilator since October 31 after her PCR test conducted at Norvic Hospital came out positive.
She died at 6:25 am today, according to the hospital administration. She had been suffering from a disease called myasthenia for the last 10 years.
